Foreman - AI assistant Beta

Ask your workshop
anything.

Foreman is the AI assistant built into CabiPro. It reads your own records - stock, jobs, suppliers, clients, staff - and answers in plain English, with a link to every record it used. No reports to build. No filters to set.

How much 18mm white melamine have we got left?
Scanning inventory and materials...
You have 7 sheets of 18mm white melamine free on Rack B3. Another 2 are reserved for the Hadleigh kitchen and 3 have already gone out to recent jobs. Your reorder point is 4 sheets, so you are close - the Forintek lead time is 3 days.

Ask Foreman anything...
The problem

The answer is in
there somewhere.

You know the sheet count is recorded. You know which supplier it came from is recorded. Finding either means remembering which screen it lives on, which filter to set, and what the item was actually called when someone typed it in eighteen months ago.

  • Naming never matchesthe rack says white board, the system says 18mm white melamine.
  • The knowledge walks outthe one person who knows where things are recorded is on a site visit.
  • So nobody lookspeople guess, over-order, or ring the supplier instead.
Things people actually ask
  • How much 18mm white melamine do we have left?
  • Which projects are running for the Hadleigh job?
  • Who supplies our brushed brass handles?
  • What is in the Norden kitchen lot?
  • Which suppliers do we buy edging tape from?
  • What soft-close hinges do we stock?
How it works

Retrieval first.
Then the answer.

Foreman does not answer from memory or from what it read on the internet. It goes and finds your records first, then writes the answer from those - which is why it can show you exactly where every answer came from.

  1. 01

    Your records get indexed

Every item, supplier, client, project, lot and staff record in your shop is turned into a mathematical fingerprint and stored alongside the original. When a record changes, its fingerprint is updated with it.

  2. 02

    Your question gets read

Foreman works out what you are actually asking about - materials, a job, a supplier - and narrows the search before it starts. Ask about white melamine and it does not go trawling through your staff list.

  3. 03

    The right records are pulled

It finds the closest matches by meaning rather than exact spelling, then loads the full, live records for the strongest few straight from your database - not a stale copy.

  4. 04

    You get a straight answer

The answer is written from those records and nothing else, with the sources attached. Click any source to open the actual item, job or supplier it came from.

What it knows

Six kinds of record.
All of them yours.

Foreman is indexed across the record types a shop actually asks about day to day - and only ever the ones belonging to your organisation.

Inventory items

Sheets, handles, hardware, accessories and edging tape - with categories, finishes, brands and stock.

Suppliers

Supplier records and their contacts, so you can ask who supplies what without opening a tab.

Clients

Client records and every contact attached to them, across residential and commercial work.

Projects

Jobs and their details, so you can ask what is on, what is due and what is sitting.

Lots

The areas and lots inside a project - kitchen, pantry, wardrobe - each tracked on its own.

Employees

Staff records and roles, so you can ask who is on a job without chasing the whiteboard.

What you get

An assistant that
earns its keep.

01

Ask in plain English

No query builder, no filters, no report designer. Type the question the way you would ask the bloke next to you at the bench, and Foreman works out which part of your shop it needs to look at.

  • Understands meaning, not just keywords
  • Finds matches even when spelling differs
  • Narrows to the right record type automatically
  • Answers in sentences, not raw database fields
02

Every answer shows its work

Foreman attaches the records it used to every answer, each with a relevance score. Click one and it opens the actual item, job, supplier or client - so you can check it yourself in one click.

  • Source chips on every answer
  • Relevance score shown per source
  • Click straight through to the record
  • Item photos surfaced where they exist
03

It cannot see other shops

Every search is locked to your organisation before it runs. Foreman is structurally incapable of returning another business's records - the isolation sits in the query itself, not in a filter applied afterwards.

  • Organisation-scoped on every single query
  • Deleted records excluded automatically
  • Follows your existing login and access rules
  • No cross-tenant search path exists
04

Your data stays on your system

The language model runs on infrastructure we control, not a third-party AI provider. Your client list, job costings and supplier pricing are never handed to an external service to be processed or trained on.

  • Self-hosted models, not a public AI API
  • Business data never used for model training
  • Runs alongside your database, not across the internet
  • Australian-hosted, same as the rest of CabiPro
05

Grounded, not guessing

Foreman answers only from the records it retrieved. If your data does not contain the answer, it says so and points you at where to look - rather than inventing a number that sounds plausible.

  • Answers strictly from your own records
  • Says so plainly when nothing matches
  • No invented figures, names or statuses
  • Reads live records, never a stale cache
06

Always a click away

Foreman sits in the corner of every screen in CabiPro. Ask a question mid-quote without losing your place, get the answer, and carry on - no separate app, no context switch.

  • Available on every page in the app
  • Keeps your place while you ask
  • Works on the floor from a phone or tablet
  • Answers arrive in seconds
Trust

It only knows
what you know.

An assistant that invents a stock figure is worse than no assistant at all. Foreman is built so that every sentence it writes can be traced back to a record in your own database - and so that nothing leaves your system to get there.

  • Grounded in retrievalanswers are written only from records it just pulled from your database.
  • Sources on every answereach one links straight through to the record it came from.
  • Scoped to your organisationthe isolation is part of the query, not a filter bolted on after.
  • Models we hostyour business data is never handed to a third-party AI provider.

Foreman FAQ

The questions
before the questions.

How is this different from a search box?

A search box matches the letters you typed. Foreman matches what you meant - ask for white board and it will find 18mm white melamine, because it understands the two are related. It then reads the records it found and writes you an answer, rather than handing back a list to sift through.

Can it make things up?

It is instructed to answer only from the records it retrieved from your database, and to say so plainly when your data does not contain the answer. That said, Foreman is in beta and is still learning your business - always verify anything critical against the record itself, which is exactly why every answer links its sources.

Is my business data sent to an AI company?

No. The language model runs on infrastructure we control rather than a third-party AI provider, so your client list, job costings and supplier pricing are never handed to an outside service or used to train anyone's model.

Can staff see things they are not meant to?

Every query is locked to your organisation before it runs, and Foreman sits behind the same login as the rest of CabiPro. It cannot reach another business's data at all.

What can it actually answer questions about?

Inventory items, suppliers, clients, projects, lots and employees. That covers most of what gets asked across a shop floor in a day - what have we got, who supplies it, what is on, and who is on it.

Does Foreman cost extra?

No. It is included in the CabiPro base plan while in beta, at no additional charge.

Ask it about your shop.

Bring three real questions to the demo. We will load your data and let you ask them yourself.

Foreman is in beta. It is still learning your business - answers may occasionally be incomplete, so verify anything critical against the linked record.
